Build Your Own System - An explanation
Welcome to Phase 2 of build your own custom system. This facility is in development at present and does contain certain limitations, these are explained below. Please feel free to use these tools to build your own system within its functional capabilities .
| Design Part at a Time | Design All At Once |
Points of Note:
4/5/01: Entered Phase 2 by added "Design All At Once" option where you can see all full lists at one time and can change multiple items before updating price.
19/4/01: An approximate price is now displayed in the option list. Please don't bother to ask us why the sum of exact component prices doesn't equate to the total system price. System pricing is slightly different to component pricing and the price shown for a component is a very simple estimate only.
19/2/01: When building a Pentium® IV system, only Pentium® IV compatible chassis are now displayed.
14/2/01: You can now build a Pentium IV® system, please note however the Debut case is not Pentium® compatible even though this is the only chassis you can currently select.
14/2/01: You can now get the details of a part after you have selected it, this includes an approximate price for the component in the system (the same price as listed on the component page for that part).
14/2/01: You can now remove a selected component and select a different option. If you select "No Thank You" for a part, you can not change that selection without using the Reset System option.
14/2/01: Have reversed printing order so the new options appear at the top of the list not below the system description, now you don't have to scroll after selecting each new part.
14/2/01 Reduced font size of text and buttons to fit more on the screen for low res users (800x600)
14/2/01: Minor text and formatting changes, price now rounds down to a whole dollar value.
